About Academy Residence
The Academy’s Residence Life works to offer a positive living and learning environment in our residence. It is therefore definitely regarded as a very special experience. A residence is a community in which one meets a range of diverse students and forges life-long friendships. Student Residence Life at the Academy strives to ensure a living and learning environment for all students and to promote a residence culture. Every effort is made to ensure that students’ residence life experience will foster their holistic development as well as being fully supportive of their academic programme.
The student residence can accommodate about 50 students in 4 different residences. These residences are all on the same residence ground.
Register for Residence accommodation
The Student Residence is available for Prestige Academy and Centurion Academy students only.
The course registration and residence accommodation applications must be made simultaneously.
- First year students – 30 September 2017
- Senior students – 30 August 2017
The application closing dates are final and all applications must be accompanied with a R1 000.00 non-refundable application and registration fee or proof of payment thereof. Please use the student name and surname as reference when making payment.
Senior students who have not applied by the 30th of August 2017 will not be guaranteed place in the residence in 2018 and will be assisted according to availability.
Deposit & Discount
3.5% Discount is offered if you pay the full residence fee by 30 November 2017 and 2% if you pay the full residence fee by 15 January 2018 for the 2018 academic year.
The residence deposit of R 3 000.00 is payable once you receive confirmation of acceptance to the hostel, by no later than 30 November 2017.
Your shuttle application forms part of your hostel registration form. An additional fee of R4000 per annum is charged for students who want to make use of the subsidized shuttle service to and from the academy. The fee is payable in full or over 10 months at R400 per month as from 1 February 2018 to 1 November 2018.
This fee is subject to supplier fees and could increase in the event of the supplier increasing their fees.
Your fridge application forms part of your hostel registration form.
Only bar-type sized fridges (Height: 84cm x Width: 46cm x Depth: 50cm) will be allowed. Communal fridges are supplied. Should you bring your own fridge, an additional fee of R550 per annum will be levied towards the use of electricity. The fee is payable in full or over 11 months at R50.00 per month as from 1 February 2018 – 1 December 2018.
Your parking application forms part of your hostel registration form, By completing your hostel registration form, parking is not automatically guaranteed. Parking is limited so we will strictly allocate parking according to date of application. Should we not have parking we will inform you in writing. You may then make use of our shuttle service. Allocation of parking bays will be confirmed by 15 November 2017. Should you be granted a parking, you will only be required to pay for the remote to gain access to the premises. The fee for the remote is R200 (once off) and will be refunded at the end of the academic year.
Cancellation of Residence placement
It is important to take note of the cancellation of hostel placement. Should you cancel the residence application after 30 November 2017, you will forfeit the non-refundable application registration fee of R1000.00 as well as the deposit of R3000.00. Cancellations received after 15 January 2018 will be held liable for the full year’s residence fee. Cancellations will only be accepted if done in writing.
