Complementary to this, Global Training (Pty) Ltd trading as Prestige Academy has been awarded accreditation status with the Council on Higher Education's Quality Committee (HEQC). This body is responsible for local accreditation of higher education institutions, learning programs (courses) that lead to specific qualifications, and promoting quality within education and training institutions in the higher education sector in South Africa.

ACADEMIC MERIT
These bursaries are awarded to candidates to acknowledge excellent academic performance.
An academic bursary for senior students may be awarded to a candidate currently in any year of study, e.g. the first year, second year.
Students apply for a bursary for the next academic year. Grade 12 applicants will be judged on their final grade 12 marks (the bursary is awarded for their first year of study); first year applicants on their first year marks (for the past year) and second year applicants on their second year marks, etc (retrospectively).
An academic bursary will be a minimum of R7500 each.
The applicant should achieve an average score of 80% or above to be considered for an academic bursary. The Committee reserves the right to award a bursary, or not, if the best candidate’s marks are below 80%, but not less than 70%.
Should there be more than one applicant adhering to this minimum standard, the Committee reserves the right to divide the bursary amount equally between the number of applicants.
Candidates must apply for this bursary by way of a completed application form (accompanying the student registration form), and a motivational essay
Bursary payments Bursaries are not paid out in cash; the amount awarded is used as credit to the account of the successful applicant in the current year of study.
The bursary amount credit will be reflected in the final account statement for that year. The normal monthly instalment (if this is the chosen method) must still be paid as per registration contract. The bursary payment will be deducted from the last instalment(s).


DISADVANTAGE STATUS
These bursaries are reserved for prospective and current students who are in a disadvantage position in some or other way. The primary purpose is to support students that are unlikely to enter higher education programs, obtain a qualification, reach their full potential and ultimately enter the job market due to adverse socio-economic conditions such as financial difficulties. These bursaries are also for prospective and current students living with any form of disability which has a limiting effect on reaching their full potential in life.
A disadvantage status bursary will be a minimum of R7500 each.
To be awarded a bursary in this category, the applicant must have achieved an aggregate of at least 60% academically.
Candidates must apply for this bursary by way of a completed application form (accompanying the student registration form), and a motivational essay.
The Committee reserves the right to award a bursary in this category, or not if the best candidate is below 80%, but not less than 50%.Any amount not used in this category will be transferred to the disadvantaged category to be used for that purpose.
Indicators for Disadvantage Status
Employment and income status of either or both parents, and the duration/history of unemployment.
Homemakers (who do not earn an income because they fulfill this role out of free will) are not regarded as disadvantage.
Nature and degree of disability of the applicant (visual, hearing, physical impairment, psycho-emotional conditions that impact an academic performance, etc) and the duration/history thereof.
Students from historical disadvantaged backgrounds.
