Beach Clean-up

At Prestige Academy,  outreach is a team effort counting on collective inputs and outputs; therefore we invite all our students to partake in the activities through poster displays, visual marketing (e.g. dressing up) , classes presentations and Facebook. The main aim is to get our students involved and to create awareness.

This year the Community Outreach Team of Prestige Academy has a very diverse set of activities. Looking over the past few outreach events we have strongly focused on helping people in the community. This outreach event is quite different as we extended our helping hand to Mother Nature.

Ready steady, BEACH CLEAN UP! That is what our students did on the 10th of April. Geared with disposable gloves and black bags our students headed off to Blaauwberg beach to clean up the strand. This was the first beach clean-up in the history of Prestige Academy and definitely an activity that we will build on in the years to come.

The example of some of the students’ comments gives proof that our students really enjoyed this activity.

Danielle Neveling: “This was a fun and enthusiastic outing that gave us new meaning of keeping our beaches clean”

Pauline Cloete: “This was an enriching experience and it felt nice to be able to give back to the community.”

Henau Hellmuth: “It was so nice to look back on the beach while standing with your black bag and knowing you have just made a difference.”

Amelia Blom: “This initiative is proof that we can all come together to weed out the “crap” spoiling our system. It only required some to say, “We care” and it made a respectful difference. We left a positive footprint”
