You are probably asking yourself: “Why have I been rejected in the first place?”

You battled for your marks, you passed top of your class, you have applied early and your heart was set on a university… Well, not all hope is lost, if that’s what you’re implying. Being rejected by a university does not mean that you cannot pursue your dreams.

The important characteristics and credibility of Private Higher Education Institutions, such as Prestige Academy (part of Stadio Multiversity), are often overlooked and this is quite a huge concern as statistics show that approximately 25,000 applicants per public university are received on a yearly basis.  However, less than 5,000 students are accepted at the individual universities.

What happens to the 20,000 students with a bachelor’s pass that can’t further their studies at a public university?

These prospective students can either take a gap year, do a bridging course, apply at a distance learning or TVET college or they can apply at an accredited Private Higher Education Institution like Prestige Academy

It is important to note that all higher education institutions, both public (universities) and privates like Prestige Academy, have to be compliant with the same accreditation requirements and all programmes are evaluated against the HEQSF (Higher Education Qualification Sub-framework) in the same manner (by a panel of independent academics) upon which accreditation is awarded, or not. In other words, our qualifications are quality assured in exactly the same manner as any other public university in SA.
