If you are looking for a new, exciting and rewarding career as a make-up artist – look no further!!! Here at Prestige Academy, we want to help turn those dreams of fashion shoots, film, television, and freelance work into a reality with our Higher Certificate in Film and TV Make-up Design. We will help you launch yourself into one of the most creative and rewarding industries in the world!
Taught by one of the best make-up artists, on and off set, Stephanie Esterhuizen, you can be confident in the knowledge and the advice you will receive because it will be invaluable throughout your career.
Our make-up course takes place on campus at Prestige Academy in a make-up studio environment, with practical make-up lessons at the core of each module. Some modules included are Casualty Effects and Prosthetics, Character Make-up, and Facial Hair, Make-up in Fashion and Beauty, only to name a few! You will also be offered the unique opportunity of working on your own photographic shoots with fellow photography students.
The journey does not stop here. As part of the course, you will also gain valuable industry experience through experiential learning. This happens during your final year of studies. It involves learning through placement at a company to gain hands-on experience through executing actual tasks and assignments in the business environment. This provides you to acquire the first-hand experience in the world of work in the industry concerned. You will get in-depth knowledge of workplace practices and broad knowledge and understanding of how a business operates. You will develop capabilities that are impossible or highly unlikely in the classroom environment, for instance, the ability to deal with challenges and problems within the context of the workplace itself. You will also develop the ability to integrate knowledge and skills across all course modules at a practical level.
